  • Allyson McDermott has been at the forefront of historical design and conservation for over forty years, her historical, technical and creative expertise is unsurpassed worldwide and is seen in every one of our products.

    In selecting one of our wallpapers, fabrics and accessories from Allyson McDermott Collections, you are purchasing a piece of heritage with the provenance associated, which are the mainstays of our design ethos.

    All our Collections are derived from designs originally discovered and conserved by Allyson McDermott at some of the UK’s most distinguished historic estates and properties. Our designs always incorporate unrivalled attention to detail and historical accuracy. We pride ourselves on our high level quality, design and UK based production.

    Every product is carefully printed to order. Wherever possible our wallpapers and fabrics are printed in-house by our expert design team. We also work with carefully selected, UK-based makers and manufacturing partners who share our passion for excellence.

  • Allyson McDermott Collections is a small UK family business. Allyson and her studio team are based in the celebrated English Lake District, a World Heritage Site famous for its stunning landscapes inspiring distinguished creatives such as William Wordsworth, John Ruskin and Beatrix Potter.

    We also have a wood block printing studio in Herefordshire undertaking bespoke block printing.

  • Everything is designed and printed in the UK. Many of our items are printed in-house by our expert design team. We also work with carefully selected UK-based makers and manufacturing partners with whom we maintain very close working relationships. We develop products collaboratively, and they share our passion for outstanding quality and attention to detail.

FAQ’s

  • If your product is faulty, incorrect, or damaged on arrival please notify us immediately so that we can take action. You must notify us within seven days of accepting delivery, ideally sooner.

    Supply us with photographs, including damaged packaging if relevant – this will help us to rectify any issues as quickly and effectively as possible.

    Damage caused after or during unboxing is not our responsibility.

    Please note that many of our products include antique effects and imperfections derived directly from historic wallpapers. These are not faults – they are an integral part of the design.

    Your consumer rights are unaffected.

  • Your wallpaper is printed to order.

    Prior to ordering please ensure you read our guidance pages, measure your space carefully, and order the correct quantities.

    Once you have received your order confirmation, we are unable to cancel your order.

    We are only able to accept returns if your product is faulty, incorrect, or damaged on arrival. In this case please notify us immediately so that we can take action and if the packaging is damaged please check the product prior to accepting the package.

    Supply us with photographs immediately, including damaged packaging if relevant – this will help us to rectify any issues as quickly and effectively as possible.

  • All UK shipping is £9.00 and all international shipping is calculated at check out.

    We use Royal Mail, Parcel Force, UPS, FedEx, DLH for all orders. Tracked where necessary.

    We are conscious of costs for our customers and are continuously endeavouring to reduce our shipping costs and will pass these on.

    If you are shipping your order to a third party it is your responsibility to check that the third party has received the correct product, size, colour and quantity and have provided the right postal address, we are not responsible for re-shipping the order.. We cannot replace products if they have been opened, used, cut or made up.

  • All A4 samples are available online to order.

    As a small family business we aren’t able to offer free sampling as this would increase the price points of our finished products. Our sample pricing is kept as low as possible but from time to time we will offer discounts and free samples. Please sign up to our newsletter to be updated.

    All samples are non returnable.

  • All our wallpaper is bespoke and printed to order so we cannot offer a refund after you have paid for the wallpaper unless it is faulty.

    You have ordered a bespoke product, once the wallpaper has been ordered and paid for, we cannot change/cancel or refund your order as it is sent automatically into production. Our wallpaper is not a fast product to produce so it does take time to have it printed.

    If you have opened a roll and discovered there is a fault, please send photographs of the fault immediately and the product back for us to inspect. Once we have agreed the problem and informed we can organise to have more wallpaper sent out to you.

    We ask that you calculate the amount of wallpaper you need for your project. We cannot accept returns of over ordered rolls because we have printed the wallpaper to your requested amount.

    It is advisable to speak to a professional decorator about how much wallpaper you will need and measure the room correctly. More often than not people under order and then need an extra roll and they have to wait for that roll to be printed and sent. We do not hold any stock of wallpaper, as all wallpaper is printed to order

  • Wallpaper the lead time is 14-20 days

    International lead times are 14-25 days

    In house printing is generally quicker and we endeavour to dispatch as soon as feasibly possible.

    Sometimes the our printers are quicker than the lead times.
    Lead times depend on how busy the printers are and we update our lead times accordingly and keep you updated.

    It does take time to print our products and you are ordering a bespoke product printed to your requirements. We do not have stock everything is printed to order.

    All products are sent via tracked courier and shipped within 48 hours after completion.

  • We will be adding representatives in due course.

    You can arrange an appoinment to visit our studio in Cumbria or Herefordshire.

  • For wallpapers the minimum order is one roll at this time but may change.

    Please check how much paper you require prior to ordering.

  • If you are a trade customer, you need to have a trade account before we can offer discounts.

    If you are interested in a trade account you need to email us your website address and company information to show us you are an interiors professional.

  • All products can be ordered online via the website.

    We sell our products all over the world, prices are shown in British Pounds (GBP) as well as other denominations.

    We accept all major credit cards and utilise Paypal, Clear pay, Apple Pay and Stripe for secure payments.

    If you are from the EU, USA or ROW we do not add any taxes to the product prices but please be advised you are liable for all taxes and duties upon receipt into your country.

  • Due to changes in paper and material production there can be subtle changes in the substrates that affect colour, so we advise asking for a recent sample. If you ordered a sample a few months previously it is a good idea to reorder another sample to make sure there are no differences.

    We endeavour to ensure there is a minimal colour variation between batches of printing, however there are circumstances that may cause differences in colour variation between batches of printing due to the natural characteristics of the materials used, especially with natural silk and grasscloth which are outside our control.

  • This is very important to us as a company and we are constantly updating our packaging to reduce wastage and to make sure they are fully recycled and to source sustainable products where feasible. All our products are 100% natural.

    We are careful with all our printing and sampling, and we make sure nothing is sent to landfill and we recycle all our packaging.

    All our inks and dyes are recycled and comply with international standards.

  • Due to the nature of our papers and the possible requirement to trim the papers it is advisable to seek professional help with hanging. Several of our papers are on Natural Silk, Grasscloth for example and although the are easy to hang no paste should be allowed onto the surfaces.

  • We always recommend contracting a reputable professional decorator, experienced with the type of property and décor concerned. Please see our How to Guides for further information.
