Abernant is a beautiful Welsh country house on the banks of the River Wye. This paper was discovered at auction by the previous owners, fresh and vibrant as the day it was painted. It was used to decorate the dining room and was conserved by us when the house was sold.
This 19th Century Chinoiserie design is an exciting contrast to our other collections. It’s a superb example of the art of Chinese paper at its best and makes a bold statement in any setting.
We have again set it into two sets of four panels, which repeat as an alternative to a *full bespoke recreation, which is still available.

Shadow Garden
Our Shadow Garden derives from Abernant and has been subtly adapted to created a ghost image which we have set onto mica to give it a sparkle, enhancing the design throughout the day.
History & Provenance
Abernant is a Welsh country house on the banks of the River Wye on the Welsh/ English border.
This exquisite paper was discovered at an auction by the previous owners. This paper is as fresh and vibrant as the day it was painted as it was never hung originally and protected from sunlight.
The paper was used to decorate the dining room at Abernant and was conserved by us when the house was sold.
