Discovered unused at auction in the 1960s, the Abernant is truly a glorious design and a real statement in any room.
This stunning and bold wallpaper paper is a fabulous example of a late 18th century Chinese Export wallpaper. Designed and produced on a rich, vibrant coloured backgrounds encompassing birds and flowers picked out in exquisite detail amongst the trees.
The Abernant is available in seven sumptuous colour ways, that will make a bold statement in any room.
The full Panorama is made up of two sets of four, Set One and Set Two wallpapers. These can be ordered separately or together and the repeats.

This is paste the wall. It is advisable not to get any paste on the surface, due to the quality of the paper.

History & Provenance
Abernant
Discovered unused at auction in the 1960s, the Abernant wallpaper is a fine example of late 18th Century Chinoiserie wallpaper.
The paper was conserved in the studio and is a superb example of a bold and vibrant wallpaper from the period. There was a desire at the time to have such bold colours in order to stand out in rooms lit with candles. We today forget how punchy some of these historical pigment colours were, especially when we see examples original Chinoiserie wallpaper that has faded over time.
The design itself is looser than some of the other collections such as Sudeley and the technique is very different too. The original colour was the our Original, which is a stunning blue.
We have updated the design in a range of coloured grounds which reflect historical pigments in use at the time, which bring a fresh, contemporary feel. It has also been resized in two sets to give homeowners and designers a little more flexibility.
The original is now carefully housed in Allyson's extensive archive at her studio on the fringes of the English Lake District.
